Mens and Women issues

I can definatly see how people would have self-image problems. Our society is filled with media that advertise these "perfect" people, and we naturally compare ourselves to them. It is hard to be compared to that and everyone wants to look great. Parents are a big influence in self image, a great example is the girl that talked in beginnings. Parents are responsible to be positive influences on their children.
I think probably the biggest issue with sexual assult isn't rape or molestation, but times when girls are not able to say no. For instance, at a party when a girl has had to much to drink and she isn't thinking striaght, thats when most sexual assult crimes happen. It is a terrible evil thing and it needs to be controlled, and one way to do that is stop it if you see it happening. Other people have been sexually assulted at home. I feel extremely bad for these people because they are scarred at such a young age.
Pornography is a slippery slope. The thing about pornography is that it can actually be addicting and many people fall into its temptation. For some, pornography is a release from stress or sexual tension. Porography is bad because it undermines the pupose of sex, and God's original intension.

Alcohol

I personaly dont know how bad drinking is by itself. I know it is illegal, but i dont think it is that bad of a thing. I have personally decided not to drink. I think that drinking is fine if it is done responsibly and reasonably. Some people live for the weekends and can't wait to drink. I think that a lifestyle surrounded by alcohol is empty. I personally try to avoid drinking myself, but i can still have have fun at parties and other social events.

Three goals

One of my goals this year is to improve myself on the football field and earn a starting spot by the end of spring. My competition will help me to compare myself to the other guys ahead of my, and come play hard everyday for my spot. Achiever will help me becasue i will never be content with my play, so i will continue to work to get better even if I am starting. Maximizer will help me get great at things I am already good at. It will help me be to teh best of my potential.
I will work this year to maintain a 3.5 GPA to do that my competition will help me compete with everyone else in class, to get the better grade. Achiever will help me to continue to do my homework, because I will need to have the feeling of getting better in the class. Individualization will help me be good in group projects, be analyzing peoples strenghts and using them to benifit the group.
Make really good friends is an important goal of mine. Individualizer will help me see peoples strengths and attract to people who have simillar strengths. Achiever will help me becasue I wont want to sit alone in my room, instead I will go out and socialize with people. Maximizer will psh me to improve my relationships and get more than just surface level with them. My strengths will help me in all these things.

Top 5 Strengths

Competition was my first strength and probably my best strength. I do believe that my competitive spirit drives me a lot. One easey area to see this in my life is on my football team. I am constantly comparing myslef to others and always conscience of how they are performing in comparrison to myself. I do love competing, and I am always looking for a game or activity to compete in. In the book it mentions a very true fact about myself; I like to compete to win, not necissarily for the fun of competing.
Achiever is probably my next best strength. The way the book described achiever is almost an exact resemblence of my personality. I always have a little feeling of discontent in that I could have done more, or got better. I see everyday as an oppurtunity to get something done. I hate days that go by and I have achieved very little. I live to avoid the feeling that I have waisted a day. No matter what i have already achieved, I constantly feel the need to improve that to the next level
Maxamizer is definatly one of my strengths. I enjoy not only finding others strengths but helping them get better. It is true that I am attracted to people who know their own strengths and are driven to improve them. I like to focus on my own strengths and tend to avoid my weaknesses. I would rather take my strengths and make them great, that take my weaknesses and make them better.
Individualization is a strength that I wasn't aware that I had, but after taking the test I reflect and realize that I do have this strength. I believe that I have a good ability to notice others strengths. I also am good at using each person strengths. When I work in teams I feel like I am able to put people in a position where they can best use their gifts. i like being able to form a team or a group where everyone can contribute in their own unique way.
Context was the only strength in the test that I believe does not fit myself. I do not look in the past for answers, and I do not feel that I use the past for good. My personality is more focused on the future and the things that could happen, things that can be achieved, and things to be careful for.

Who am I?

I'm going to start by filling you in on my my family and where i come from. I was born in Bellflower, CA to my mother and father, Mike and Barb Struiksma. I have a brother, Brett, who is a junior in high school and happens to be my best friend. My sister, Kelyn, is an eighth grader, and is a really fun energetic girl. I have grown up in the Christian church my whole life, and have also attended a christian school since kindergarten. My family is very athletic which naturally led to me enjoying sports. I have played baseball and basketball most of my life, and started football as a freshmen in high school. I have a great family who likes to go to be active and enjoys vacations such as going to the lake, and camping.
My personality is influenced a lot by my family. I have a lot of energy and like to always be "doing" something. I am also pretty focused on my goals. I play football for APU, and am determined to be the best football player possible. I am pretty outgoing and I really am willing to do anything as long is it isn't sitting around. I am a christian and am beginning to realize what it means to make my faith my own.
In the future I hope to graduate from college. I would like to do some post graduate work depending on what I decide my major to be. I want to be successful on the football field and have fun playing my passion. I would hope to find a wife and get married. And most important of all have a great relationship with my God.
